Saturday Clay Labs have reopened with limited space. Tuesdays will re-open March 16. We recommend arriving early to get your spot. We are currently outdoors so dress for the weather!

If you’d like to hear about updates, email to be added to the Clay Lab Newsletter.

Clay Labs are open to the public every Saturday (unless it rains), 10am-1pm and Tuesday 4:30-7:30pm. We do not take reservations. All ages and skill levels are welcome (kids under the age of 14yo must be accompanied by an adult at all times).

During Clay Labs, all supplies are provided. You may use up to 10 lbs of clay per class. We offer a cone 5 buff and also rotating clays (currently a speckled tan and a red clay). You are welcome to use our wide selection of clay tools, glazes, our slab roller and electric wheels (exception: if you are new to the potter’s wheel you must first take one of our classes before using). Please consult our staff if you’d like to bring your own clay or glazes. We can fire up to 1 cubic ft of ceramics per lab session, if you’d like to fire more than this please talk to the staff and we will work out an appropriate fee. We hope to soon begin offering classes again. When we do, you will find them here.

Totally new to clay? No problem

We welcome everyone, no matter your experience! However, this is not a class so it will help to do a little research before you arrive. There are many wonderful youtube videos on different handbuilding techniques to give you the basics of pinch pots, slab and coil building. We also love resources like Ceramic Arts Network

Everyone must wear a mask and respect social distancing guidelines at all times. We are currently hosting clay lab outside in our courtyard.

$25 per session/$15 for members (significant discounts with purchase of multiple passes)

You may pay ahead or at the door with cash, card, or check.

We bisque fire at cone 04 and we offer 2 different glaze firings, cone 06 (low) and cone 5 (high). If you would like something to be fired, be sure to join our email list so we can notify you when it is ready to pickup. Due to our limited space, we can only store ceramics for 4 weeks after they have been fired. Pieces that are left for longer than 4 weeks are considered abandoned and will be donated or thrown away. If you need more time, we will always try to store your work for longer if you contact us!

Lab fees are non negotiable and are not dependent on project’s process.

For our safety and the safety of everyone’s projects, we do not fire items that are dangerous, extremely fragile, or thicker than 3/4in. We reserve the right to refuse the firing of any object for any reason.

In order to create a safe and encouraging environment for creativity, we ask that all attendees comply with Verge’s non-discrimination policy which prohibits unlawful discrimination and harassment based on race, color, gender, gender identity/expression, age, physical or mental disability, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or any other consideration made unlawful by the state or local laws. We also ask that everyone contribute positively to a safe and comfortable environment for all attendees. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who does not abide by our community standards stated above.
