Clay Labs are open to the public every Saturday morning, 10am-1pm and Tuesday evening, 4:30pm-7:30pm. We do not take reservations. All ages and skill levels are welcome (kids under the age of 14yo must be accompanied by an adult at all times). We are now operating outside. We recommend you dress to be outdoors. We now have heaters!

During Clay Labs, all supplies are provided. You may use up to 10 lbs of clay per class. We offer a cone 5 buff called 1/2 and 1/2 and also rotating clays (currently a speckled tan and a red clay). You are welcome to use our wide selection of clay tools, glazes, our slab roller and electric wheels (you will need to have had instruction on a wheel before using). Please do not bring your own clay or glazes. We can fire items up to 12 inches in any direction per lab session. Please check with the lab tech for acceptions. We welcome everyone, no matter your experience. Our staff can provide brief demos for people who are new to clay but this time is not structured as a class. Verge Center for the Arts often offers ceramic classes, check our classes for more information.

Firing:

We bisque fire at cone 04 and we offer 2 different glaze firings, cone 06 (low) and cone 5 (high). If you would like something you make fired, be sure to join our email list so we can notify you when it is ready to glaze or take home. Due to our limited space, we can only store ceramics for 4 weeks after they have been fired. Pieces that are left for longer than 4 weeks are considered abandoned and will be donated or thrown away. If you need more time, we will always try to store your work for longer if you contact us!
