Ianna Nova Frisby

Ianna Nova Frisby is the recipient of the 2016 Leff-Davis Fund for Visual Artists, a resident artist at Verge Center for the Arts in Sacramento, California and an adjunct professor at Sacramento City College and Sierra Community College since 2005.

Using ceramics is her primary medium, Ianna Frisby’s artwork is inspired by the cultural humor she finds in everyday (and often discarded) objects that reflect our collective past, present and possible future.

She received her BFA from Humboldt State University in 1998, an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2005 and a student loan to be paid off by the year 2150.
